My name is Eren and I’m the founder of Skillfully.

Skillfully wasn’t the company I wanted to start. Initially, I wanted to build a founder-agent. An AI that created companies. While building this I realized that the most important component - the part that made the most difference - were the skills. I was building these skills by hand while reading an entrepreneurship book.

This made me think that skills are valuable. Concurrently, I decided to publish a tool that I had made for free skill authors to receive feedback. I was underwhelmed by the quality of free skills and wanted to improve it for all. Around a hundred people signed up to use this tool after my attempts at posting it on X; yet usage was low.

So I decided to talk to these people and found that “if [they] don’t make $4000-6000 a month, [they] will never look at a dashboard.” Then I met with Rob, around this time I was already involved with Next Canada and Rob Snyder was teaching there, Rob had a free skill he was sharing with people and we connected over this. He was on board to be my first user.

With Rob we have built a skill and shared it with his community. It performed well monetarily but more importantly his readers loved it and they kept using it.

This is how I started Skillfully.
